Professor Sam McConkey says there’s a confidence that the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic is behind us.
The Monaghan-native says data from the last week has shown that the Omicron wave has passed without significantly impacting ICU numbers.
He says the Government must strengthen public health systems and learn to react quicker to future pandemics.
