€925,000 in funding has been allocated to Cavan and Monaghan to support local community projects.
It's part of an overall funding injection of almost €7.4m in funding that will assist 175 projects nationwide.
€453,419 in funding has been announced for Cavan.
This includes a €50,000 allocation to Cootehill Community Playground; €50,000 to Kilnaleck Community Playground; €50,000 to St Patrick's NS in Bruskey; €45,000 for St Anne's NS Parents Association, Bailieborough; €50,000 to Aghadreena NS, Stradone; €25,236 to Swanlinbar Development Association; €50,000 to Lavey Community Group; €43,200 for Kilnaleck Activity Hub; €39,983 for Drumlane Community Development & Drumlane GAA Club; and Cavan Cootehill Harps AFC receives €50,000.
Monaghan receives €471,000.
This comprises €48,454 to Rockcorry National School; Sean Mc Diarmada GAA Club receives €50,000; O'Neill Park, Doohamlet, €50,000; Dartry Forest Park, €50,000; Aghabog GFC €50,000; Oram National School, €50,000; Ballyoisin Community Development, €50,000; Drum Parish Church of Ireland, €22,500; St Michael's National School, Corcaghan, €50,000; and €50,000 for Clones GFC to install public lights in the car park area of St Tiarnachs Park and upgrading the ground finish to the existing car park.
Meanwhile, Minister Heather Humphreys said the funding will benefit all communities in the region.
"20 local community groups across Cavan and Monaghan have received funding," she added.
"The recent census results show that there are now more people living and working in rural Ireland than ever before.
"This is hugely positive and the funding will support communities to develop great facilities for families to enjoy.
"Astro-Turfs, sensory gardens, handball alleys, outdoor cinemas, hurling walls, basketball courts, walkways, public toilets, community gyms, youth hubs and community cafés are just a few examples of the wide range of projects we are supporting."
