€831,000 in funding for a series of climate and biodiversity projects in Cavan and Monaghan has been announced.
The funding is being delivered under The Community Climate Action programme, which supports projects which focus on building low carbon communities across the State.
Cavan is to receive €439,000 to deliver such projects, while Monaghan is to receive €392,000. 16 projects in Cavan and 11 projects in Monaghan are to benefit from todays announcement.
Welcoming the funding, Minister Heather Humphreys said the substantial allocation of funding to support climate and biodiversity projects in Cavan and Monaghan is warmly welcome. She said this funding will benefit so many worthy causes, from Tidy Towns Groups to sports clubs and community organisations, adding that she looks forward to seeing the projects come to fruition.
The projects in Cavan are:
" Fairgreen Community Garden: Installation of solar panels for the provision of electricity at Fairgreen Community Garden and measures to promote the circular economy and biodiversity.
" Cavan Tidy Towns: Installation of various measures to promote active travel, the circular economy and biodiversity within Cavan Town.
" Ballyhaise Development Association: Installation of measures to promote the circular economy, water conservation and biodiversity enhancement.
" Ballinagh Community Enterprise Association: Installation of various measures to promote biodiversity enhancement and solar lighting around Ballinagh community garden and river walkway.
" Templeport Resource Centre Development; Energy efficient upgrades to Templeport Resource Centre and the installation of measures to promote biodiversity enhancement.
" Drumavaddy Social & Development Committee: Energy efficient upgrades to Drumavaddy Community Centre.
" Drumgoon Community Centre Co-operative Society: Energy efficient upgrades to Gallonray House.
" Munterconnaught Community Development Associto St. Kilian's Heritage Centre and active travel measures.
" Crosserlough GFC: Energy efficient upgrades to Crosserlough GFC clubhouse and facilities and Realtog Community Centre. Project also includes installation of measures to promote the circular economy and biodiversity enhancement.
" Kildallan GAA: Energy efficient upgrades to Killdallan GAA clubhouse and facilities and the installation of measures to promote active travel, the circular economy and biodiversity enhancement.
" Denn GAA Club: Energy efficient upgrades to Denn GAA clubhouse and facilities and installation of measures to promote active travel.
" Lacken Celtic GFC: Energy efficient upgrades to Lacken GAA clubhouse and facilities and installation of measures to promote the circular economy.
" Redhills GAC: Energy efficient upgrades to Redhills GAC clubhouse and facilities and installation of measures to promote active travel.
" Lavey GAA: Energy efficient upgrades to Lavey GAA clubhouse and facilities and installation of measures to promote the circular economy.

" Glaslough Development Association: Climate Action ation: Installation of Solar Panels and biodiversity project to include planting of native hedging and trees.
" Killeshandra Community Council: Installation of water refill stations, biodiversity project and active travel measures.
" St Kilian's Heritage Centre: Energy efficient upgrade Measures at the Oakland Community Centre.
" Castleblayney Faughs GAA: Holistic sustainability actions for a large GAA Club
" Aughnamullen GAA Club: Aughnamullen GAA Biodiversity Project
" Cuan Mhuire CLG Ballybay: Cuan Mhuire Community Centre Climate Action Project - Installing solar panels & compost bins.
" Doohamlet GFC: The installation of an electric robotic mower, solar system, recyclable bottle banks & bike stand.
" Monaghan Tidy Towns: Biodiversity Town Pocket Forests for a Low Carbon Town.
" Eire Og GAA: Reducing the Carbon footprint of Eire Og GAA.
" Lisdoonan Recreational & Development Association CLG: Lisdoonan Community Centre renewable energy & biodiversity project.
" Cremartin GFC, Cremartin Community Group: Cremartin Complex Climate Action Project.
" Gaeil Triucha CLG: Renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, water refill station and biodiversity project.
