A charity run that took place last month in the memory of a local man has raised over €75,000.
Vincent O Rourke from Laragh was best known as one of the best at driving tractors working diggers building sheds welding and making anything that involved steel.
The €75,000 raised from the recent event has been given to the Cavan/Monaghan palliative care fund. A charity that Vincie and the O Rourke family have always held close in their heart.
When Vincie turned sixty last year he decided to have a party not for himself but to raise money for Drumlin house and Cavan Monaghan palliative care and got a total of over €6000 for the two charities.
Vincie passed away earlier this year from a short illness and these funds were raised in his memory to highlight the great work that Cavan/Monaghan palliative care does and has done over along number of years right across the Northern Sound region.
