Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has today announced almost €537,000 in funding for 13 community and sports facilities in Cavan and Monaghan. The projects being funded in County Cavan include: Ballyconnell Community Centre: Roof, fire and safety measures, accessibility, and reception - €50,000. Gallonray House: Rebuilding of a perimeter wall along public road, re-surfacing of a section of carpark and marking of car bays - €32,048. Templeport Development Association: Upgrade of Boathouse and Jetty at St Mogues Island - €49,951. Killyconnan Community Playground: Playground upgrade - €50,000. Killeshandra Community Cinema Project: Installation of tiered seating system and safety barriers and installation of ceiling mounted Epson laser short throw projector and fit 300cm fixed frame screen - €50,000. Gowna District Council: Provision of fitness equipment in a community Gym in the Community Hall - €25,000. Killinkere National School: Provision of a Multi-Use Game Area (MUGA) - €45,000 and Swanlinbar Development Association: Interactive musical sensory disability ramp - €49,582.
The projects being funded in County Monaghan include: The Peace Link: Installation of a sensory garden - €44,753. Ardaghey Community: Resurfacing and drainage of walkway area - €50,000. Latton Resource Centre: Install a lift - €32,591. Corcaghan Community Centre: Centre uplift works: €37,264 and Derryvalley Hall: Replacement of windows in the community hall - €25,921.
Announcing the details of funding at Ardaghey Community Centre in Monaghan today, Minister Humphreys said: "I’m delighted to visit the wonderful community in Ardaghey today to announce funding of almost €537,000 for Cavan and Monaghan under my Department’s CLÁR Programme. This major investment will see the delivery of 13 fantastic community and sports projects right across the county."
