Minister Heather Humphreys has announced over €4.5 million in PEACE PLUS funding for Co Monaghan.
PEACE PLUS is about promoting peace and reconciliation through a range of projects that support communities on both sides of the border.
The Department of Rural and Community Development is a key contributor to PEACE PLUS. Awards have previously been made for Cavan County Council along with other counties in the border region.
€37 million in funding has been approved under the PEACEPLUS Programme. Minister Humphreys says successive PEACE programmes have made a hugely positive impact in communities both sides of the border. These programmes are built on the principles of equality and friendship and promote greater participation and engagement by all communities.
