€37m in funding has been granted for improvements to rural roads in counties Cavan and Monaghan in the year ahead. County Cavan has been allocated €19m while Monaghan has received €18m. This year's funding represents a 11 per cent increase for both counties compared to last year.
The Department of Transport has, just minutes ago, announced an investment programme of €713 million for regional and local roads in 2025. This represents an overall increase of over 8% in funding this year for road and safety improvements
