Over €35,000 has been announced for local disability groups.
The funding, which is from the Department of Health, is aimed at reforming disability services, building capacity in disability organisations and improving the quality of life of those who rely on these services.
Drumlin House in Cootehill and Steadfast House in Carrickmacross are both receiving just over €14,500 for staff training and development.
Errigal Truagh is to receive €3,500 for music therapy and staff development and the Cairde Activation Centre gets €2,300 for staff training and development.
Over €20 million will be allocated nationally under the 'Strengthening Disability Services Fund', the first tranche of which was announced this morning.
Local Senator Robbie Gallagher has welcomed the funding, saying it "will make a positive difference in the lives of the people and communities in Cavan and Monaghan".
