Over €32 million has been allocated for local and regional roads in Cavan and Monaghan.
The funding will allow for flood relief and drainage, road safety schemes, bridge rehabilitation and active travel.
More than half a billion euro is to put towards repairing roads across the entire country.
It will allow for around 3,100 kilometres of roads to be maintained and over 2,500 kilometres to be strengthened
€16.8 million of that will be going to projects in Cavan, while roads in Monaghan will benefit from €15.8 million.
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says the main priority for the year continues to be the protection and renewal of the existing regional and local road network.
