Clones and Ballyconnell are two of the 26 towns set to benefit from a €2.6 million fund to support the enhancement of streetscapes and shopfronts.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, announced this morning that both local towns will receive €100,000 each to enhance and improve their business settings.
The funding is being allocated under the Streetscape Enhancement Initiative.
Selected retailers and property owners will be provided with grants that they can use to improve the facades of their buildings, carry out artwork or install features such as street furniture or canopies.
The Minister says the scheme will give local towns and villages a facelift and
"This is a good news story and this funding will benefit 26 towns and villages up and down the country," she added.
"In Cavan €100,00 will support businesses in Ballyconnell while another €100,000 will support businesses in Clones."
