Cavan Belturbet Municipal District has announced a budget of over €2.6 million for improvement works on local and regional roads within the municipal district.
The restoration improvement programme will see works carried out on 9 different routes across the area during 2023. Firstly the allocation of €1,191,813 for three routes on regional roads was announced at this week's municipal district meeting.
This will see works carried out on the N87 on Main Street, Ballyconnelll costing over €337,000. €482,546 will be spent on the Keelagh to Derrygid route between Killeshandra and Milltown. The third route to receive funding for regional roads is the Tullynacross to Dunmakeever road which is to receive over €372,000.
€1.485,512 is set to go on local roads in the Belturbet Cavan district, the biggest spend will on the Drumerdannan to Derryvackney between Killeshandra and Bultersbridge at a cost of over €541,000. Five other routes are to receive an allocation to cover costs of works to be carried out. They are the L1518 between Knockateery and Drumbrawn. In Cavan town at Cock hill between Dunnes stores and the gaelscoil in the town.
Almost €200,000 has been earmarked for the L5538 route between Latt and Keadew, the marsh rd between Bawnboy and Erraran has been allocated 200,000 euros and the L50231 at Tullyloughfin and Altachullion upper is to receive almost €230,000.
