Co Cavan charities have been awarded almost €100,000 as part of the 2024 AIB Community €1 million fund.
Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG, SOSAD, Mullahoran Central NS and the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland (Cavan) have all received an award from the third annual AIB Community €1 Million Fund, to help with their work in the community.
Over the last two years, the AIB Community €1 Million Fund has supported over 150 charities across Ireland. Earlier this year, AIB asked its customers, the wider public, and staff to again nominate registered charities, that connect with causes that matter most to them and their communities, in the AIB Community €1 Million Fund. Speaking about receipt of the award, Catriona Boylan of Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG said: "Cavan Autism Parents Support is absolutely thrilled and very thankful to receive funds from the AIB Community €1 Million Fund. The funds will be used to continue to provide critical services in the local community."
Christine Wynne of SOSAD Cavan added: "We are delighted to have been awarded funding from the AIB Community €1 Million Fund, which is essential for sustaining the services we provide to our community. Deirdre Shaughnessy Acting Principal of Mullahoran Central NS said: "On behalf of everyone at Mullahoran Central NS, we would like to thank AIB for the funding we have received from the AIB Community €1 Million Fund. The funding we received from AIB will be allocated to our new sensory garden.
Commenting their receipt of the award, Carole Beattie from the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland (Cavan) added: "AIB's continued support for local organisations is truly invaluable, and we've seen the positive effects it has had on other groups that benefited from last year's funding. We are delighted to use the funding we have received to help improve the lives of those with dementia and their families .
