The Chair of the new National Children's Hospital Development Board has admitted costs for the project are set to increase further.
However, the board has refused to give TDs an update on how much the project is likely to cost the state.
Unsurprisingly lots of questions at the Oireachtas Health Committee this morning about what the bill for the already massively over-budget hospital will be.
CEO of the Development Board David Gunning said any discussion of costs could prejudice ongoing negotiations with the builder.
Mr Gunning did reveal there have been 900 additional cost claims, on top of the €1.4 billion price tag, and other likely expenses including inflation.
Nine of those claims have been settled for a total cost of €2.5 million - while six more are likely headed to the High Court.
Mr Gunning said many of the costs are inescapable on a large project like this.
He also revealed the hospital will likely be completed in December 2023, opening in the second half of 2024.
