Gardaí in Co Monaghan are appealing for information in relation to the dumping of a number of diesel sludge containers. According to Garda Tracy Donaghy, a number of incidents have been reported in recent weeks. A number of cubes were dumped at Aghateskin in Broomfield during the night of Monday the 12th of February.
Later that week, several cubes were discarded in the Culloville area after 7pm on the evening of Friday the 16th of February. Elsewhere, a number of diesel sludge cubes were discovered at 6am on the morning of Friday the 23rd of February also in the Culloville area. Garda Donaghy is appealing to anyone with information on the matter to contact Gardaí in Carrickmacross.
"On all of these occasions are colleagues at Monaghan County Council have attended the scenes and work towards limiting the environmental impact of these incidents," explained Garda Donaghy. "If you have any information or possibly observed a vehicle carrying these cubes please make contact with Gardaí in Carrickmacross."
