A change to the Bus Éireann Donegal to Dublin service will mean an hourly service through Belturbet. As the 30X service is being phased out, the new number Route 30 service will also mean greater frequency and better punctuality for users on the popular route.
As the main public bus service to Dublin from Cavan, the Route 30 Expressway has been an important service to people living all along the N3 in County Cavan. Before the change, it used to go through Belturbet every three hours.
Cavan-Monaghan TD Brendan Smith called on the Chief Executive of Bus Éireann to improve the frequency of the 30 service to improve transport for the west Cavan area. He said Bus Éireann has assured him the revised timetable will improve punctuality and frequency (listen below):
