A young male motorist will face a court appearance following an incident which took place in Co Cavan over the weekend. According to local Gardaí, a vehicle was stopped while driving "erratically" near Breffni Park during Saturday's Ulster Championship clash between Cavan and Tyrone. When the vehicle came to a stop, it soon emerged the motorist was behind the wheel without any insurance, tax or having a valid NCT in place.
The motorist was also found to be driving while under the influence of various drugs. According to Gardaí, the young male was tested for drugs in an examination that returned positive results for cocaine, cannabis, opiates, benzos and methamphetamines. He will now face a court appearance.
