A driver has been arrested in Cavan following a spate of driving offences.
Cavan roads policing unit detected a motorist travelling at 137kph on the N3 near Butlersbridge on Saturday night. While attempting to stop the vehicle, it committed a number of dangerous maneuvers at high speed before driving into Northern Ireland. 10 minutes later, Gardaí encountered the same car in Ballyconnell where it was then intercepted. The driver was arrested for the previous dangerous driving offences, and subsequently failed a drug test for cocaine. The vehicle was also uninsured.
The motorist will face a court date in the near future.
