A local Green Party representative says he hopes Saoirse McHugh remains in politics following her exit from the party.
Former MEP candidate Saoirse McHugh left the Greens last night due to her opposition to the Programme for Government.
She says it’s a “terrible document” that does “damage to the idea of environmentalism”.
Tate Donnelly, a Cavan-Monaghan representative, says he is sad to see Saoirse leave the party.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound that she has had an amazing impact in politics and that he hopes she continues to “amplify her voice”:
