The Do Not Consume notice in Cootehill has been lifted with immediate effect.
The notice affected close to 2,200 customers, but has been lifted following consultation with the HSE, Irish Water and Cavan County Council.
All consumers on the Cootehill Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
Peter Gallagher, Regional Operations Lead with Irish Water, says Irish Water acknowledges the impact the notice has had and they sincerely regret the inconvenience.
The Do Not Consume notice was in place due to elevated levels of manganese in the water supply, and Mr Gallagher says "experts worked hard to resolve this issue as quickly and as safely as possible".
