Detectives are treating the death of Monaghan man over the weekend as a suspected hit and run.
The incident took place on Sunday morning when the man was found fatally injured on a roadside in south Armagh.
40 year old Michael Kirk, was found on the Blaney Road outside Crossmaglen at around 5am on Sunday.
The father of two was originally from Inniskeen but had been living in Shercock.
It is believed that the incident may have been a hit and run and the PSNI say they are keen to trace the last movements of Michael on the night of Saturday, 22 August and the early hours of Sunday, 23 August.
Detective Inspector Michael Winters has stated that a 35 year old man presented himself to police yesterday evening and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and remains in custody at this time.
The PSNI has issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
They are particularly interested in tracing the movements of a blue Audi 6, as well as gathering information on whether anyone saw Mr. Kirk walking on the Blayney Road or through Crossmaglen on the dates in question.
