Cavan County Council recently acquired the houses known as the "Widow's Cottages" for the purpose.

Derelict properties in Belturbet are set to be redeveloped as social housing.

Cavan County Council recently acquired the houses known as the "Widow's Cottages" from the Representative Church Body of the Church of Ireland.

The houses were originally built as an early form of social housing, and subject to Part VIII planning, the derelict site will be brought back to use.
