The Government has launched an awareness campaign around the menopause.
The aim is to provide a better understanding of menopause and allow women to access information and supports so that they can proactively manage their experience.
New research commissioned by the Department of Health highlights the "big impact" the menopause is having on the everyday lives of 86% of women.
Cavan Monaghan Fianna Fail TD, Deputy Niamh Smyth, says there has been huge investment in women's health by the Government and she pointed to how Minister Stephen Donnelly secured funding for six specialist menopause clinics nationwide.
Deputy Smyth added the campaign will empower everyone to open up the conversation around menopause and help to eradicate the stigma and secrecy that's associated with it.
