The Department of Education has given its approval for the extension and refurbishment of Scoil Bhride in Tyholland, Co Monaghan. The move will see the construction of a new classroom and SET room under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
Minister for Education, Norma Foley made the announcement earlier this week. Senator Robbie Gallagher says these latest works highlight the Government's continued investment in education across the Cavan Monaghan region.
He added that Principal Kathy Ronaghan, the staff, Board of Management, and parents deserve great credit for their "tireless work" in securing the project.
"This is more good news for education in Monaghan," explained Senator Gallagher. "I'm delighted to have received a phone call from Minister Foley's office to confirm that Scoil Bhride in Tyholland got the go-ahead for a new classroom and a special educational training room.
"I would like to pay tribute to Principal Ronaghan, Board of Management, and all the staff and parents for their ongoing work and development at the school, it's really going from strength to strength."
