The Chief Executive of Monaghan County Council Robert Burns and current Cathaoirleach, Cllr David Maxwell will travel to overseas next month, in a bid to strengthen bonds and business opportunities between New York and the Farney County. Previous travels by council representatives for St Patrick's Day have proved to be a success for the county, including the partnership between Project Children and Monaghan County Council which was launched by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar recently.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Maxwell said that connections with Project Children first stemmed from a trip by council representatives back in 2017. Cllr Maxwell also confirmed that a delegation of business owners from Co Monaghan will also make the trip on their own accord in a bid to showcase what Co Monaghan has to offer in terms of investment and international business opportunities. According to Cllr Maxwell, this trip is focused on showcasing what Monaghan has to offer, in the hope that something will come from it.
