Concerns have been raised over a defibrillator which was removed from outside of Clones Library. According to Monaghan County Council, the defibrillator was removed on Monday night, September 30th at 11.30pm.
Speaking to Northern, Sinn Fein's Pat Treanor made a public appeal for the return of what he describe as a piece of "life-saving equipment." Cllr Treanor said that the community of Clones have "worked hard" in coming up with ways to make the town safer for people. He added that this kind of anti-social behaviour is "not acceptable" as it acts against the best wishes of the people of Clones.
Cllr Treanor continued; "I would appeal to anyone who has this defibrillator to leave it back and whoever is at this type of stuff I would ask them to stop it. This is anti-social behaviour. It's acting against the best wishes of the community. If they have some other issues with the community I would invite them to come and talk about what those issues are."
