A defibrillator locator initiative between Monaghan Joint Policing Committee and the National Ambulance Service has been described as "ground-breaking".
The initiative will ensure that every publicly accessible defibrillator in the county is registered with the National Ambulance Service.
Members of the public are being asked to provide an Eircode for the location of AEDs, so they can be added to the mapping system.

Carol Lambe, Community Development Officer with Monaghan County Council, says lives has been lost in the county because Ambulance staff are unaware there is a defibrillator available as little as 50 metres away.
Carole says the defibrillator map will also enable the Monaghan JPC to install the devices in communities that are "under represented":
