The Deerpark Inn in Virginia, County Cavan has been named the 2024 Georgina Campbell Gastro-Pub of the Year.
Proprietor of the Deerpark Inn, is celebrity chef and two-time Michelin Star winner, Richard Corrigan who was at the awards ceremony yesterday to present awards to other entrants. Leading food and hopsitality writer, Georgina Campbell, presented the award which bears her name to a "surprised" Richard Corrigan saying "nobody does it better" than him.
The Meath man bought the former Chestnut Tree Pub in 2019 but, didn't fully open the rural pub in its current guise until after the pandemic.
Following the results of this year's awards, the Cavan restaurant can now include a coveted Georgina Campbell plaque to its list of previous accolades.
