The decision to refuse permission for a mast in Ballyjamesduff has been overturned.
Earlier this year, Cavan County Council decided to not allow Eir to construct an 18 metre high monopole at the Eir Exchange off Granard Street.
It said the structure went against the County Development Plan and would have an adverse impact on local amenities.
This decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanala, with the planning inspector agreeing with the local authority's refusal.
However, An Bord Pleanala didn't accept the inspectors' report and granted permission for the mast.
It said the development would help resolve coverage issues and that it was located in an appropriate place.
