The decision to refuse permission for 15 new homes in Tydavnet has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
Last month, Monaghan County Council ruled that permission wouldn't be granted for the mix of two and three bed two-storey homes.
It noted that there were issues with the proposed footpaths, and that the density and design wasn't in keeping with "the established pattern of development".

The applicants have since brought the decision to An Bord Pleanala, with a ruling to be made by next April.
