Renowned Hotelier Mitzie Corscadden has passed away aged 90.
In a statement issued today by Cabra Castle management read, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann (Mitzie) Corscadden, (née Ahern), Cabra Castle, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, formally of Ballylongford, County Kerry, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. As we reflect on our loss and celebrate her life, we are reminded of her passion for life, her inspiring vision, and her love for her family.
Mitzie attended Shannon College of Hotel Management in 1953, where she embarked on a journey that would shape her future and leave an indelible mark on the hospitality industry, a Shannon Graduate to the end. She will be remembered not only for her remarkable achievements as a businesswoman and hotelier but also for her compassion and kindness as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and lifelong friend to many. Her unwavering dedication to excellence in hospitality created a lasting impression on guests and employees alike, leaving a legacy that will endure for many years to come. She remained grounded in her philosophy of hospitality-simple yet profound: "Just be nice to people." Her genuine warmth and infectious smile left a mark on all who crossed her path, embodying the essence of true hospitality.
Reposing at The Granary in Cabra Castle on Wednesday, 24th July, from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt on Thursday 25th July at 10.00am with burial afterwards in the adjourning Cemetery.
