The Heritage Council of Ireland are seeking nominations from Cavan and Monaghan for this year's Heritage Awards. Every year, the Heritage Council seeks nominations for individuals or groups of people who showcased successful heritage projects.
Among the overall winners last year were the Cavan branch of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings who took home the Sustainability and Climate Award for their event at Rothaí Mill in Cavan. Included in the award categories is a county award which recognises the best heritage project in each county
Laragh Heritage were the winners in Monaghan for their 'Heritage of Music in Monaghan' event which celebrated the music scene in Castleblayney. Alongside the county awards are number of national categories including Irish Language, Sustainability and Climate, and Inclusivity. Event organisers must put themselves forward for consideration for an award and the deadline to do so is September 24th.
