Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Those with information are asked to contact Crimestoppers. 

The road remains closed this morning and local diversions are in place. 

The dogs are vicious, if you saw the damage they did, they are vicious.

Mr Montgomery has strong roots to the area.
