Days of "Card Only" signs numbered says one local MEP

The Days of "No Cash/Card Only" signs must be numbered according to one local MEP.

Midlands North West MEP Chris MacManus says the days of shops refusing to accept cash must come to an end and that he intends to do this by closing possible loopholes in proposed regulations from the EU.

He says the EU Commission has proposed that a genuine cash friendly society can be fostered.

Mr McManus plans to use his position to make it cast-iron clear that cash is legal tender that people can use in their daily life without hindrance. The Midlands North West MEP welcomes this intervention by the ECB and hope lawmakers in Brussels and Dublin pay close attention.
