David McCague has been appointed as the new principal of St Macartan's College in Monaghan.
He will take up the role in August.
Mr McCague takes over from Raymond McHugh, who has been principal of the Monaghan school since 2007.

David McCague is also a selector with the Monaghan Senior Football Team, and Manager of the U20 squad.
The County Board has congratulated him on his appointment.
