At Monday's County Council, David Maxwell brought forward a motion with his party colleagues to address the spiralling energy prices.

Cllr David Maxwell questioned why the Local Authority was "re-hashing" an issue that has "already been dealt with".

Cllr David Maxwell says Bus Éireann is aware of issues in Monaghan but "nothing seems to be done about it".

It follows claims by local councillor David Maxwell that he has seen photos that show excrement on the doors of the toilets in the station.

Councillor David Maxwell said he was sent photos in which "excrement was on the doors and on the toilet".

David Maxwell told the meeting that he got a costing of €5 million for these works.

Councillor Sean Conlon says there should be a plan in place that "kicks in" during other situations "when the lights go down".
