Cathy Bennett said her win was "beyond her wildest dreams" and that of her parents but also bitter-sweet as she won't have Pauline Tully by her side in the Dáil.

She said the programme for government is the document TDs "live or die by" so compiling it and working to it is easier when it's with like-minded partners.

Maybe there's some poetry to the fact this Dáil began with Donald Trump in office in the United States and ends with his re-election confirmed.

The bill gives power to the Budget, and is one of the last pieces of business the Government expects to conclude.

According to a local TD, in Cavan some children are waiting until they're in secondary school before they get their sixth class appointment. 

Deputy Tully said the €9m allocated in Budget 2025 for mobile phone pouches is a scandalous waste of taxpayers' money.

From next February it will be against the law to own an XL Bully, without an exemption from a local authority.
