A bucket collection for Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes will take place in Ballybay next Saturday.
The charity which operates entirely by volunteers and public donations provides a free motorcycle transportation service for the swift pick-up and delivery of urgently needed blood, human tissue, patient files and infant milk.
Speaking to Northern Sound, managing director and chairman Derek Duffy, said ongoing public support via donations is critical to the delivery of this life-saving service.
While demand for the service has increased since the Covid pandemic, Derek noted that it's the overwhelming support from people that drives volunteers on and reminds them that they are doing something extremely "worthwhile."
According to the Castleblayney native, street collections will also take place in Clones on October 19th and in Monaghan Town on November 19th:
