Crime figures across the Bailieborough District were discussed at a recent meeting of the Co Cavan Joint Policing Committee. 22 burglaries were recorded in 2022 by local Gardaí, as opposed to 19 to date in 2023. Minor assault offences were also down 13, from 22 recorded last year compared to 14 so far in 2023.
The local rate of criminal damage was also down to 14 incidents recorded so far this year, as opposed to 18 incidents of criminal damage in 2022. Drug driving incidents were also down, with Gardaí recording 11 incidents in 2022 as opposed to five this year to date. Three acts of sexual violence crimes were recorded last year, comparted to four this year so far.
