A new recipe book has been launched by the Created in Cavan project at the Oak Room Restaurant this week. An initiative of the Cavan Food Network and funded by Cavan County Council with assistance from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, ‘Created in Cavan’ focuses on the collective community of food and drink producers, and food tourism services participating in the supply, production and service of quality local food and drink across the county.
The recipe book which was launched by well-known Cavan chef, Shane Smith, is now available and all proceeds will go to Cavan Autism Parents Support; Breffni Blues Special Olympics Club; and Cuan Cancer Support Centre.
Food Strategy Co-ordinator, Marianne McDonald told Northern Sound the book provided an opportunity for all local food producers and chefs to come together and create something special. She added it was a couple of years in the making but has been a very worthwhile and rewarding journey.
Meanwhile, the recipe book can be purchased at the Oak Room Restaurant; Connolly Brothers; Candlelight Bookshop; Sushi Mania, Hawthorn Lodge, Belturbet; and Cavan Tourist Office.
More outlets will be added in the coming days.
