The rate of Covid in Cavan and Monaghan remains low as the national positivity rate in on the rise. While PCR tests are now only available to a limited category of the public, the number of positive cases increased by 21.7 per cent in a week.
Last week, there were 2,337 new cases confirmed by PCR tests. The number of people registering home antigen tests rose by 15 per cent of the same period. Both Cavan and Monaghan have among the lowest incidence rate in the country. Over the past 14 days, there were 73.5 cases per 100,000 population in Cavan, and 65.2 in Monaghan.
The national average is 98.3 - Offaly has the highest rate at almost twice the national figure.
