The Covid incidence rates in the Northern Sound region continue to rise.
Monaghan remains the county with the highest rate in the country, with 1,119 cases per 100,000, more than twice the national average. It recorded 51 new cases yesterday.
Cavan has a 14-day rate of 670, with 61 cases announced last night.
1,197 cases have been recorded locally over the last two weeks.
Meanwhile, 6,110 new cases of the virus were confirmed across the country last night - the highest since the pandemic began - with 6 further deaths.
The national 14-day incidence rate now stands at 582.8 cases per 100,000 people.
