Cavan and Monaghan have seen 96 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 today.
The National Public Health Emergency Team says 1,000 new cases of the virus have been confirmed across the country today.
NPHET confirmed three Covid-19 related deaths today also.
Cavan recorded 81 cases over the past 24 hours, giving a 14-day incidence rate of 735.1 - well above the national average of 218 per 100,000.
Monaghan today recorded 15 new cases. It's incidence rate is now 368.2.
786 cases have been confirmed in the two counties over the past two weeks.
254 of today's cases were in Dublin, with 102 in Meath, 88 in Cork, 81 in Cavan, 75 in Galway and the remaining 400 cases are spread across 20 counties.
NPHET says as of 2pm today, 246 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 30 are in ICU. There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
