The Covid-19 Community Assessment Hub in Cootehill has re-opened in a bid to relieve pressure on Cavan General Hospital.
The HSE says the facility will be open seven days a week for people who are Covid positive or presumptive positive.
Community Assessment Hubs deal with Covid patients over the age of 16 who require assessment.
The HSE says they "provide a timely... assessment, so that patients can be supported to manage their condition through the provision of clinical input, advice and supports".
It's hoped the hub will reduce the number of Covid patients presenting at Cavan General Hospital and allow them to recover at home, rather than be referred to hospital.
It says the majority of patients will be able to return home after assessment but some will be referred to a self-isolation unit if they cannot isolate in their home or to a hospital for further treatment if needed.
The CAH is based at the HSE Community Services Building in Drumlin Drive in Cootehill and it will operate seven days a week from 1pm-5pm.
However, people must be referred to the hub by a GP if they have tested positive for Covid-19 or if they are presumed positive.
