A jury has found a woman not guilty of murdering her 76-year-old mother by reason of insanity.

A large media presence is expected at court this morning as the 61-year-old is required to attend in person.

The 61 year old is expected to appear in person at Newry Magistrates Court today.

The jurors said they had reached a majority verdict yesterday afternoon.

Ms O’Doherty was brought before the High Court on Wednesday following her arrest by Gardaí.
