Today, a young woman called Molly Staunton gave evidence through a video link from her home in the US.

During the summer of 2016, she said Mr. Brady was living in an apartment with her boyfriend in the Bronx in New York.

One evening, in July of that year, she said she remembered Aaron going on a rant in the apartment. She said he was “crying, intoxicated and kind of crazy”.

She told the court he was talking about how he was in fear of the cops coming into the apartment, because he had shot a cop in Ireland.

She said he described himself as “the most feared man in Ireland.”

She said she was in shock, and almost didn’t believe it. She said she didn’t process it fully until Gardaí showed up at her house.

Mr. Brady denies murdering Det Donohoe and has also pleaded NOT guilty to a robbery charge.
