The court case between Monaghan County Council and the owners of Homesavers has been settled.
It had been feared the popular home bargains retailer would face closure, if the case proceeded.
A spokesperson for Centz, the owners of Homesavers stores across the country, told Northern Sound both parties in the dispute reached an out-of- court settlement, the details of which are not being disclosed.
Homesavers, which stocks discounted home and garden furniture, also sells smaller item lines including toys, stationery and pet products.
Monaghan County Council brought the case because they asserted Homesavers, which is based in Monaghan Retail Park on the edge of Monaghan Town, was in contravention of its planning regulations.
