The country looks set to be hit by fierce winds and heavy rain later today.
A status yellow warning will come in to effect from 1pm.
Matthew Martin is a forecaster with Met Eireann.
He says spot flooding is being predicted for parts of Connacht and Munster.
"After a fairly fine start, the clouds will build through the day and we're expecting rain and strong winds to spread from the south, so we have a status yellow rain and wind warning in operation for Munster and Connacht from 1pm today. So that's for heavy rain and strong winds, with a chance of spot flooding."
