The counting of votes in what could prove to be an historic election in Northern Ireland gets underway at 8 am.
Turnout was down on the 2017 Assembly elections but the opinion polls have suggested Sinn Féin will be the largest party in Stormont for the first time ever, winning the right to nominate a First Minister.
