Local councillors will meet with Tuath Housing this afternoon over an unfinished Carrickmacross housing estate that has been described as an “eyesore”.
It follows a motion that was recently passed by Colm Carthy, calling for a meeting with Tuath Housing to discuss "perceived delays on construction" to the estate on the old Ardee Road.
While some units have been completed at the estate, Councillor Carthy says work has "ceased" on the other properties.
He told a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting that "we need the facts" for what will happen to "this unfinished site we have had to look at for over a decade".Tuath Housing says delays in completion have been caused by a number of factors and adds that it is taking legal advice with regard to their contract with the developer.
The Housing Body also says it is unable to provide dates for recommencement but will meet with councillors this afternoon in the Carrickmacross Civic Offices.
