Councillors in Cavan are calling for an all-island approach to stopping the spread of Covid-19.
Concern is rising over the number of infections in border counties and in Northern Ireland.
Cavan now has the highest 14 day incidence rate in the Republic at 385.9, with Monaghan third highest with 330.7.
It’s suggested that if strict lockdown measures are announced by Stormont, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal could follow and be increased to Level 4.
A motion was passed at yesterday’s Cavan County Council meeting that a letter be sent to the First and Deputy First Ministers to make a case for co-operation on restrictions.
